| 13 Apr'10 | On the 8th April in Aklhaltsikhe, Georgia, EUROCLIO in conjunction with the Akhaltsikhe State University will host a teacher-training seminar for teachers not yet reached by the EUROCLIO/Matra project Tolerance Building through History Education in Georgia. The event will include a presentation of the Georgian Association of History Educators, led by project coordinators Nana Tsikhitavi and Elene Medzmariashvili. There will be further presentations from EUROCLIO executive director Ms. Joke van der Leeuw-Roord, who will present the work of EUROCLIO internationally and the current running project in Georgia, as well as international expert Ineke Veldhuis-Meester who will give a presentation on history education in The Netherlands. Following the presentations, there will be workshops from international expert Rumyana Kusheva (Bulgarian History Teachers’ Association) and Tsira Chikvaidze (Georgian expert). The event will also give international participants an opportunity to visit local schools before the workshop to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing educators in Georgia.
